The power of a tweet: abortion tops mental health conversation
A 2011 CBS news story highlighting a study that linked abortion with increased risk of mental health conditions was the top article this week. The study is purportedly one of the first to find associations between the procedure and subsequent psychological conditions, including increased risk of depression, anxiety, alcohol abuse, marijuana use, and death by suicide. The article resurfaced when Catherine Hadro, the host of Eternal Word Television Network’s show ProLife, shared a link to the article and quoted the findings on her personal twitter account. Hadro’s tweet went live on October 7 and has since been shared more than 5,400 times and acquired nearly 9,000 likes. Hadro’s show, Prolife, airs weekly on the Catholic media station and is hosted by Hadro and other pro-life experts providing a faith-based perspective on the culture of death.
